History

Soroptimist International of Greater St. Louis is a proud member of Soroptimist International of the Americas, a worldwide organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. The St. Louis chapter was chartered in 1973. Our members are retired and working professionals and business women. We are dedicated to the betterment of women and girls in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area by contributing our time, talents and financial support.


Soroptimist International of Greater St. Louis club projects include supporting volunteer efforts for local food banks and arranging activities for nursing home patients. During the year we host several fundraisers. Click here for more information on our service projects.

Through our annual fundraising events we are able to grant local organizations funds to aid in their missions to help women and girls. Since 1974, SIGSL has awarded grants to support local efforts to improve the lives of women and children. Awards ranging from $500 to $3,000 are presented to selected organizations that serve women, girls, families, and/or teens in the Greater St. Louis area. Click here for a list of 2018 Grant Awardees.
